Hey everyone,

I?ve been trying to get TR64Dev up and running on my Windows 11 setup, but I?m running into some weird issues. The emulator launches fine, but as soon as I try to load a ROM, the screen either goes black or freezes completely. I?ve already tried compatibility mode (Windows 7 and XP), running as admin, and even tweaking some of the video plugin settings ? no luck so far.

Is anyone else running TR64Dev on Windows 11 successfully? If so, what configuration or plugins are you using? I?m especially curious if there?s a recommended graphics plugin or specific settings that help with stability.

Any tips or working setups would be super appreciated ? I really want to get this running smoothly for development testing!

Thanks in advance

Hey everyone,

I?ve been testing a few N64 ROMs using the latest build of TR64Dev, and I?m noticing some inconsistent texture rendering ? mostly in games like Mario Tennis and Resident Evil 2. Certain textures either don?t load at all or flicker during gameplay.

I?ve tried adjusting the graphics plugin settings (frame buffer emulation, texture filtering, etc.) but haven?t found a combo that consistently works across games. My setup is on Windows 10, running via Project64 with TR64Dev as the video plugin.

My question is:
Has anyone here found a reliable config or workaround for this specific issue in TR64Dev? Or is it still a known limitation with certain microcode implementations?

Any insight would be appreciated ? especially from those who?ve played around with the plugin source or compiled custom builds.

Thanks in advance!

General Discussion / Need Help with "Invalid CPU" Error on TR64Dev Emulator
« on: September 26, 2025, 07:55:49 AM »
Hey everyone,

I'm a new member here and really excited about TR64Dev. I'm trying to run a simple N64 homebrew game I've been working on, but I keep getting an "Invalid CPU" error in the console. The game is a pretty basic ROM, nothing too complicated. I've double-checked my code and configurations, but I'm having trouble figuring out what's causing it.

Has anyone encountered this error before and could point me in the right direction to fix it? I'd really love to see my project up and running. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!
